What lies ahead for Africa? Is there any reason to hope that tomorrow will be better than today? It is easy to think that this troubled continent faces a troubled future. After all, Africa has long battled enormous problems for which there are no easy answers.

Here is a book that challenges popular thinking about Africa and presents a refreshing optimism about her future. But this optimism is not without foundation. In taking a hard look at Africa's often painful past, author Pete Ondeng brings a new interpretation to critical events in her history. And he tackles the continent's most pressing social, economic, and political issues, drawing from his experience to illustrate his conviction that Africa's problems will be solved at a personal level.

Meticulously researched and eloquently written, Africa's Moment builds a strong case for a bountiful future for the continent. And it offers specific ways that each of us can have in planting the seeds of hope.

AFRICA'S MOMENT TV PROGRAM OVERVIEW
A new weekly television program hosted by Kenyan author and business consultant, Pete Ondeng.

THE CONCEPT
Research shows that the entrepreneurial spirit is growing with more start up businesses than ever before. In Kenya, there is a large pool of entrepreneurial talent that needs to be supported to create the much needed jobs and wealth to lift the continent out of poverty. A vast majority of these entrepreneurs are, however, impeded from growing to their full potential because of limited access to technology, finance, training and market.

Africa's Moment will appeal to a youthful entrepreneurial class who are aspiring to develop successful businesses. The weekly show will cover a comprehensive range of topics that will inform and inspire anyone who has ever dreamed of starting a business.

It will showcase growth industries and emerging technologies, profile innovative ideas from the hottest markets around the world and provide business management tips and authoritative business advice.

THE HOST
The Presenter of Africa's Moment will be Pete Ondeng, a seasoned business development specialist with twenty four years of experience in the fields of financial services, small and medium enterprise (SME) development and organizational leadership. Pete's professional experience and wide exposure combined with his engaging communication skills have positioned him as a credible commentator and public speaker on contemporary economic, social and political issues related to Africa's development. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1984 in the U.S. where he began his career as an internal auditor for McDonalds Corporation. Since then, he has served in leadership positions for a number of private and public sector organizations in over 15 countries.

He is a motivational speaker, trainer and the author of Starting a Small Successful Business, an inspirational book for aspiring entrepreneurs. He is a well known television personality who previously served as the host of NTV's "Money Matters", a weekly, prime time television program that highlights business and investment opportunities.

His public service experience includes a successful stint as the CEO of the Eastern Africa Secretariat of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), a pan-African economic development program of the African Union.

INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
Africa's Moment and Project54Tour are committed to helping the impoverished of Africa and empowering youth. Our programs aim to address urban poverty through business development training and network creation for small and medium scale businesses in Eastern Africa, with the ultimate goal of enabling local businesses to foster economic development in their communities.

Project54Tour, a New York and Kenya based, non-profit organization dedicated to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), works to support the vast and largely untapped entrepreneurial potential in Africa through a two-pronged strategy involving both a direct delivery of business development services and indirect support through network facilitation and information dissemination.

Our presence in Nairobi allows us to collaborate with other international organizations that directly support our programs throughout the 53 countries of the Africa Union. It strengthens our financial support globally and helps to sustain our business development programs in Kenya and the surrounding Eastern region.
